Work, rethought from the desk up

Fernwick Workrooms began with a simple frustration: offices were either soulless cubicles or expensive leases. We built the third option — flexible, beautiful workrooms where freelancers, startups and growing teams do their best work.

Our story

Built by people who wanted a better desk

We opened our first workroom in Chicago with forty desks, one espresso machine, and a belief that environment shapes output. Today more than 750 members work across our San Francisco, New York and Chicago houses — designers beside developers, founders beside freelancers.

What hasn't changed is the formula: inspiring rooms, honest pricing, fast internet, good coffee, and a community team that actually knows your name. No long leases. No hidden fees. No working alone unless you want to.

What we believe

Three principles behind every workroom

Flexibility first

Scale from a day pass to a private office without renegotiating your life. Your plan should fit your work — never the other way around.

Community is infrastructure

Introductions, shared lunches, founder breakfasts — serendipity is a feature we maintain on purpose, with a team dedicated to it.

Details are the product

Ergonomic chairs, reliable HDMI cables, phone booths on every floor, coffee that never runs out. Small things, compounded daily.

Beyond desks

A vibrant community, not just square footage

Members join for the desks and stay for the people. Weekly demos, monthly showcase nights, skill-share lunches and a member directory that actually gets used — Fernwick is where solo workers find collaborators and startups find their first customers.

  • Weekly community lunches and Friday demos
  • Founder breakfasts and skill-share workshops
  • Member directory and dedicated community team
  • Wellness rooms, snack bar and 24/7 access
